WOOL is a natural fibre that has been used for centuries. It is only in the last 20 years or so that WOOL is being recognised for its extra-ordinary properties. Such recognition has been the result of careful breeding programs and technology improvement. Improved treatment of raw wool and development of processing techniques have led to wool products that are now accepted and being developed around the world.
Fine and Ultra fine wool is now widely sought after by the fashion and outdoor garment industries. Layering of clothing by people engaged in outdoor activity has promoted wool to the top of acceptability and desirability. Merino wool is now widely used in these areas with great success and acceptability.
Can the industry meet the anticipated demand? Only time will tell.
